For parents and schools

BobbyZumi · Play together. Grow together. · Count. Code. Play Together

This page is for parents, guardians and primary school IT or safeguarding staff who want to review BobbyZumi and allow it on a child's device or school network. It is information to help you decide, not a safety certificate.

What BobbyZumi is

  • A learning world for children in Year 3 and Year 4 in England, roughly ages 7 to 9.
  • Short quests in maths, coding, creativity and online safety, guided by Pip.
  • A grown-up creates the account. Each child has a nickname and a preset avatar; no child email, photo or full name is needed.
  • The demo works without an account and keeps progress only on that device. Signing in saves each child's progress to your family account.
  • After about 20 minutes of play, Pip suggests a break. There are no streaks, countdowns or leaderboards.

Privacy and supervision

  • No public profiles, messaging, chat or contact with strangers, and no adverts.
  • Saved progress stays within the family account. Children see their own quests and badges while playing, and parents can review progress in the grown-up area. Other families cannot see it.
  • The grown-up area is protected by a parent PIN. Child mode runs on the parent's signed-in session in the same browser, so please supervise younger children and lock the grown-up area when you hand over the device.

What we don't offer yet

  • BobbyZumi has not had an independent child-safety certification.
  • There is no direct support contact at present.
  • A forgotten parent PIN can't be reset by yourself yet.
  • You can't request deletion of your data from inside the app yet.

Allowing BobbyZumi on a device

  3. Choose Manage sites, then Approved sites.

Apple Screen Time

In Screen Time content restrictions, add bobbyzumi.com to the allowed websites, or approve it when your child uses Ask to Browse. Apple's guide (opens in a new tab)

Microsoft Family Safety

Open your child's Content filters, go to Web and search, and add bobbyzumi.com to Allowed sites. Microsoft's guide (opens in a new tab)

For schools

Please ask your school's IT or safeguarding staff to review the site and, if they're happy, allow both bobbyzumi.com and www.bobbyzumi.com in the school's filtering system. The Department for Education's filtering and monitoring standards (opens in a new tab) explain how schools make these decisions.

Website categories

Many home, school and mobile filters use category lists from security companies. New websites may not be listed yet. Site owners can ask for a site to be reviewed for a category such as Education. A category is a label, not a safety approval.
